“ The place to come for a heart warming bowl of soup! Bun Bo hue is flavorful as well as their mi quang. Got the regular and vegetarian mi quang, vegetarian one came with lots of veggies and tofu. Wished there was just a little more meat in the regular as I feel like they used to put a bit more. Spacious interior with outside seating and food comes out relatively quick! ”
“ Food was divine and the prices were amazing. I got a hot tea and a BBQ pork banh mi sandwich for $8.70. My friends got grilled pork spring rolls and they were so good they both saved one to have at the end of their meal. Service was fast and our waiter was friendly and helpful. edit: my friend who got the mango smoothie with boba found a piece of plastic in it... removed a star. ”
“ Pho King, nestled by the lake in a small shopping center, is a must-visit spot. I tried the #12 Chin Nam Ve Don--a pho with tender brisket and skirt steak in a rich, flavorful. The real highlight, though, was the bánh mì. The freshly baked bread was light and crispy, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Easily one of the best bánh mì sandwiches I've ever had. If you're nearby, don't miss it! Also the lemonade is made fresh . Service was extremely fast . Great spot to eat . ”
“ Pho King is a good pho spot! We were trying to expand our options by trying a new Pho spot (usually we go to Pho Huong Que). This place is a solid alternative. We liked the pho - got the large and they are definitely generous in the amount of noodles (but sad to say, I don't think the meat is particularly proportionately increased). That being said, a solid pho spot if you're looking for something somewhat affordable and tasty (without feeling thirsty afterwards!) ”
“ I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!! Every time I come in the staff is polite, and welcoming... they remember my food allergy because before i even say NO ONIONS they say it. My favorite items to order is Shrimp Spring Rolls and Well-Done brisket pho. I usually bring my boyfriend with me and he gets chicken and shrimp pho. THEY NEVER MISS A BEAT!!! The broth is always flavorful and the meats are cooked to the perfect consistency!!! The restaurant is very cute, well lit, nice pictures on the wall. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AND THIS LOCATION!!! I havent been to the other locations but this location is definitely on repeat for me!!! ”
“ It's been a minute since I've been over to this side of Oakland, driving by Lake Merritt to the right. Meeting at the popular Pho King for lunch, I noticed a few other cool establishments in the bizz center while parking like Merritt Cocktail House and Rise and Grind Coffee. This area seemed bustling on a Friday afternoon, and that was really nice to see! We ordered Thai teas and the Papaya Salad with shrimp to start. Such a beautiful presentation ~ so fresh, packed with flavor, and deliciously ample shrimp adorned on top of the salad bed. Would def get again. While this spot is known for their soups, I ordered the Grilled Chicken & rice plate. Again, so flavorful and really great portions. The meat was clean and enjoyed the marinade, and the accompaniment on the plate satisfied every morsel! Service was excellent ~ friendly staff, super quick, and great value overall for portion size and happy tastebuds! Would love to come back and try more Vietnamese staples and treats. Well done, Pho King! ”
“ My go to beef and egg roll bun is so good. I had the egg coffee too for the first time. Coffee is strong but creamy because of the egg. Service is always friendly and fast! ”
“ I already loved them when they were still in that tiny little space close to E14th. Their Pho has always been stellar and I also like the vermicelli bowls. But I always come for the pho. The husband, who is not a soup lover, is usually happy with his rice plate. The last time, his chicken as well as the rice was a bit dry. But my daughter loved her chicken noddle soup. Can also recommend the smoothies. It's sometimes a bit difficult to communicate, at least with one of their servers, who is not very fluent in English. But we manage by talking with our hands ;-) ”
“ Date: 1/27/2024 Time: 1:45 PM 64° Partly cloudy My siblings and I are doing some cleaning of a home in the area. We need to take a lunch break. This restaurant is within walking distance from said home. It's my first time here, so I don't know what to expect. Upon arriving we (6 of us) are seated right away. Service is quick. The employees here are attentive. The waitress asks us if we want to sit comfortably at another table for eight people. Yes! Upon perusing the menu, I know what I want for lunch - my usual at any Vietnamese restaurant. I need to try other dishes, but I just can't stay away from #21 which is the bún thit nuóng cha giò (grilled pork and egg roll with vermicelli). Choice of beverage is fresh lemonade. My lunch was on point - quite enjoyable. The fresh lemonade is tart and refreshing. I should have asked if they serve iced tea. I could have had an Arnie Palmer. LOL The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining. The interior walls of the restaurant are adorned with beautiful artwork. I would not mind returning to try other items on their menu. ”
